Dr. Ryo Matsumaru is currently working at the Department of Regional Development Studies, Toyo University as a Professor and Head of the Department. Before joining Toyo University, he was working at the civil engineering consulting firm and had a great deal of experience in water-related projects e.g. flood management, tsunami survey, water environment, etc. in various countries that includes developing countries as well as Japan. He serves as the director of the Japan Society for International Development.
