Dr. Ryota Nakamura is an assistant professor at Civil Engineering Program, Faculty of Engineering, Niigata University, Japan. His primary interest includes climate change impact assessment on atmospheric and oceanic extremes, coastal flood risk management and morphological changes in estuary and coastal area. Especially, he has proposed regionally applicable methodologies to investigate the effects of atmospheric and oceanic environments under climate change scenarios on precipitation, oceanic waves and storm surges caused by cyclones. Also, he is a winner of several grants from Japan Society for Promotion of Science and other foundations.
