Emily Gvino, MCRP, MPH is an Associate with Clarion Associates, a land use consulting firm based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Emily brings an interdisciplinary approach to her work, specializing in the environmental, climate, resilience, and health aspects of planning. Emily works with public sector clients in the U.S. at the local and regional level, helping communities find innovative solutions.
Emily Gvino supports the DR3 team as a Strategic Consultant, collaborating on exploratory research, writing projects, and presentations. Her advocacy work on the DR3 team has centered on developing a global vulnerability index and integrating work with other UN processes and developing novel equitable stakeholder engagement methods.
Emily joined the DR3 team after obtaining a Master of Public Health and a Master of City and Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her coursework specialized in public health, resilience, and natural hazards and disasters. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia in urban and environmental planning. Emily is passionate about 1) helping communities combat environmental injustice and social inequity and 2) plan for a resilient and sustainable future.
