Taylor Franklin was an intern for the Water Institute at UNC during the Summer of 2020 while she was completing her Master of Science in Public Health from the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering at the Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Taylor's research background is in environmental microbiology and she completed an analysis of microbial contaminants found in private, drinking-water wells in Robeson County, North Carolina for her technical report. Her work is largely shaped by the environmental-justice lens and seeks to improve stakeholder outreach, raise awareness for the link between environment and health, and support inclusive research design."
